Become a Student

Christ the King Prep is “The School that Works” for students who seek a Catholic, college-preparatory high school and are motivated to work one day a week in a 'real job' at a business, non-profit organization, or government agency in the Greater Newark area.  The key word is “motivated”.

Our ‘magnet-type’ program is designed for young people with limited economic resources who have the potential to be successful in a college prep environment, and the desire to combine a challenging academic program with a corporate internship experience that will not only help them finance a significant portion of their tuition, but will help them grow in maturity, responsibility, and confidence.

Student Shadowing Program

Making a well-informed decision about the high school to attend is a very important challenge facing parents and students alike.

Throughout the year, we welcome 8th grade students, and those students who are considering to transfer from another high school, to shadow a CtK Ambassador through our "Knight for a Day" program to find out what our school is like.

What to Expect:

Prospective students report to the main office by 7:35 AM where they are greeted by the Admissions Director. After a brief overview of the school, a student ambassador guides the visiting student through a day of classes and complimentary lunch on our campus. This provides the opportunity to meet students, faculty and staff. At 3:35 PM, the prospective student returns to the main office to meet his/her parent.

What to Bring:

A notebook, pen and pencil

What to Wear:

It is the expectation that prospective students are appropriately dressed and wear the school uniform of their Catholic, charter or public middle school.

"Knight of Promise for a Day" visits take place Tuesday - Friday.  If you would like to schedule a visit, complete this form, and our Admissions office will contact you and confirm your visit day.
