Position: Associate Director, Corporate Internship Program
The Associate Director is a key team member in the daily operations of the Corporate Internship Program (CIP) at Christ the King Prep. The person holding this position will have a chance to build on established fundamentals while creating new programs. At its core, the CIP is an entrepreneurial effort that demands constant refinement and innovation. The program is both a service business and an educational endeavor. The Associate Director will help in continuing the success of this venture. Building strong relationships with students, via being a model of conduct and offering guidance as they are introduced to the corporate work world, as well as building relationships with the professionals at various workplaces, are both essential to our success.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and people skills coupled with a strong organizational aptitude. He or she will be motivated by the mission of the school and by the opportunity to help establish an institution that will have a real and lasting positive impact in Newark.
Primary Responsibilities

Student Formation
-
Work with Director to coordinate the Summer Training for all new and returning students; includes organizing workshops and events and coordinating instructors.

Assist with parent/student, and Sponsor orientations and events.

Oversee the formation of student teams and job assignments based on student and Sponsor requests, student skills and personality assessments, Sponsor job descriptions, your personal knowledge of jobs, and student’s previous performance to ensure successful job site placement.

Oversee the creation, coordination, and implementation of student recognition strategies.

Dress Code/Attendance
-
Identify and correct any inappropriate attire.

Run morning check-in and daily dress code and attendance checks.

Complete daily CIP attendance reports and prepare attendance reports

Communicate attendance issues to the Director.

Performance Review/Student Coaching
-
Implement and coordinate mini-workshops for students.

Assist with the distribution and collection of performance reviews, student self analysis, and student feedback forms.

Oversee the reporting and analysis of student performance reviews, student self-analysis, and student feedback forms.

Attend parent/teacher/administrator conferences as needed.
-
Schedule and coordinate individual and group meetings with students, Sponsors, and other school personnel as needed, utilizing sponsor feedback to ensure job satisfaction.

Sponsor Relations

Serve as a primary contact for assigned Sponsors—this includes making regular phone calls, e-mails, and office visits; updating databases; responding to evaluations; and re-contracting with assigned Sponsors.

Provide regular and timely updates on any issues regarding assigned Sponsors to the Director.

Assist Director with students who become sick on the job site and coordinate timely pick-ups.

Coordinate and/or assist with other Sponsor related activities such as Sponsor Appreciation, teacher to work days, etc.

Work with Director on prospecting and recruitment of new clients, i.e. event planning, mailings, newsletters, other marketing material, and record keeping.

Assist with annual process of renewing contracts.

Oversee student placement process throughout the school year to ensure timely communications with Corporate Sponsors and that we fulfill all work obligations.

Transportation
-
Assist Director with hiring, management, training, and scheduling of drivers.

Assist in the transportation process and related transportation matters to ensure the safety and security of Christ the King Prep students. Proactively identify and resolve issues with transportation process.

Be willing to transport students in school vehicles, as needed.

Assist in the proper maintenance, storage, upkeep, and general care of vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operating conditions of the fleet.

Other Duties
-
Address and enforce all school policies with an emphasis on discipline and dress code.

Assist CIP in identifying new Sponsors and marketing strategies.

Be available to conduct CIP portion of Admissions’ student interviews to ensure students are solid candidates for working.

Attend student recruitment events led by the Admissions Department as needed, including Open Houses and interviews.

Assist with other CIP duties as assigned by the Director.
Experience:
-
Experience working with high school students in an urban or Catholic school setting
-
Management and sales background
-
For-profit business background in customer service or Human Resources a plus.

Experience managing client relationships, data, and preparing regular reports preferred.
Required Skills/Qualities:

Bachelors Degree, preferably in business, marketing, or education

Microsoft Office proficiency, with particular emphasis on Excel and mail merge capabilities.

Driver’s license with openness to obtaining a commercial driver’s license (CDL).

Appreciation of Catholic education with an emphasis on urban education.

Flexibility in work schedule to include some evening and weekend work.

Ability to work independently and in cooperative team settings.
