Christ the King Prep is expanding its program and currently has openings for teaching staff in several subject areas.

Christ the King Prep is one of 24 Cristo Rey schools in urban areas around the U.S. Our mission is to educate motivated students from culturally diverse low-income families in the Greater Newark area, in order to prepare them for college. The school program includes both a high-quality college preparatory curriculum and a corporate internship employment program. Christ the King will expand in the fall of 2010 to add the twelfth grade to its existing ninth, tenth, and eleventh grade classes.

• Science
• Social Studies
• English
• Spanish
• Theology

Desired Experience and Education

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in field
• Successful experience working with urban high school students – minimum 3 yrs teaching experience preferred
• Evidence of effective human relations skills and cultural sensitivity
• Personal commitment to the Cristo Rey mission in education and work study nature of the school
• Patience, stability, talent, and flexibility needed to respond to the demands of a growing school
